On Saturday, July 10, I, Reverend Dan, had the opportunity to spend THREE HOURS with legendary actor Clu Gulager on my radio program, Music For Nimrods! Also in attendance was Clu's son John Gulager, director of the FEAST trilogy of films! We talked, played records and had a great time! If you would like to listen to this interview, below you will find it in three parts. Click and enjoy!
In Part 1, Clu discusses his childhood in Oklahoma, military life at Camp Pendleton, acting in college, seeing the Grand Guignol in Paris, being on live television, and appearing as Billy the Kid in the series THE TALL MAN. (BTW, it takes about ten minutes to get to the actual interview, but Clu liked the intro so much, I had to include it!)
In Part 2, Clu talks about appearing on the first 90 minute Western series THE VIRGINIAN, making his 1969 short A DAY WITH THE BOYS, creating the 1977 demo film JOHN AND NORMA NOVAK, acting in THE RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD, trying to stage a production of HAMLET in downtown Los Angeles, meeting Miriam Byrd-Nethery, and moving back to Oklahoma to make independent films.
In Part 3, Clu and John discuss acting, directing and the Clu Gulager Film Acting Workshop. Among other things!
I must thank Clu and John Gulager for taking the time to visit Music For Nimrods and for sharing so much! It was great show! For information on Clu Gulager, John Gulager and the Clu Gulager Film Acting Workshop, please visit Gulager.com!
