Tower Records Anaheim: Reverend Dan at Work in 1980

Back in the 1980s, I worked at the Tower Records store in Anaheim, California. At this particular time, the Residents "Commercial Album" had just been released and Gregg Fylpaa, Mike Marsh and myself were really getting into the album. Evidently.

Mike had made the eyeball heads using paper-mache over punchballs (purchased at the Zody's across the street) and we each then customized our eyeball to our personal liking. We are hanging out next to store artist Karen Schmidt's Nash Rambler. It's probably Halloween.

Man I miss Gregg! I worked with him at Trend in Los Alamitos. Did they ever find out what happened?

I don't even know what happened. Gregg was a very cool fellow and I'm glad I got to know him.

this is so random but nice to find. Gregg was my cousin and he and I were the official "punks" in our extended family. I still have the punk stickers he printed back in those days.

To answer the other question, he was murdered by a burglar who was never caught. Tragic and senseless, esp. if you knew him and knew what a gentle guy he was. He'd have let the guy take anything without a fight.

So tragic. Gregg was indeed a gentle soul. It's belated, but I am very sorry for your loss.

Hey, I'm actually Gregg's windows' daughter. I was looking up his name, and found this. my mom, Kathryn, wants you to know she still has tons of his art work and memorabilia and if any of your would like some, she would be more than happy to give it to you. You can get ahold of her at maceshanahan@yahoo.com or me at hannah_cleft@yahoo.com

take care.

I am Gregg's niece, and I can agree, he was the sweetest most gentle man I've ever known... I actually named my son (Now 19 years old) Gregg. I was expecting my son when my uncle was murdered.... I love you uncle Gregg and hope you know how very much you were loved and admired... Jennie
